The aftermath revealed that Sargeras' defeat on Argus marked the end of his direct threat, not a calculated move within a larger cosmic game. His sword, the Sword of Sargeras, remained impaled in Silithus, wounding Azeroth and triggering the Azerite crisis that forced the Alliance and Horde to address the lingering threat during the Battle for Azeroth. Ultimately, his demise signaled the collapse of the Legion's primary leadership. The Void Lords did corrupt Sargeras indirectly by showing him visions of the Void's potential to corrupt all worlds, leading to his fall after he was already a Titan—Titans are born as world-souls and ascend to full Titanhood, and his corruption took hold after his ascension and his joining of the Pantheon.

The final assault takes place at the Seat of Sargeras, where the Dark Titan is confronted directly. Upon his defeat, Sargeras impales Azeroth with his sword before his consciousness fades.
