Despite his cunning, Kil'jaeden's plans frequently unraveled due to the resilience of Azeroth's defenders. His manipulation of Illidan Stormrage ultimately backfired when the Betrayer turned against him, leading to a long-standing rivalry. In the end, the Deceiver was forced into a direct confrontation with the heroes of the Alliance and Horde during the invasion of the Frozen Throne. Defeated in single combat by Illidan and later permanently slain by the combined might of Azeroth's champions, his death marked a turning point in the war against the Legion.

Kil'jaeden's origin lies on Argus, where he was once a high priest of the Eredar before Sargeras offered him power and purpose. Transformed into a demon, he became the Legion's chief strategist, specializing in long-term manipulation rather than brute force. His most defining arc involves his role as the architect of the Scourge. By corrupting Ner'zhul to create the Lich King, he intended to turn Azeroth into a beacon for Sargeras. This plan set the stage for the entire War of the Lich and the rise of Arthas. Kil'jaeden's impact on Azeroth is immeasurable; his machinations drove the Third War, created the Scourge, and nearly doomed the world twice over.
