Rebuilt from the ashes after the Second War with the aid of dwarven allies, Stormwind rose again, stronger than before. It has since weathered numerous crises, including the Third War's undead scourge and the catastrophic events of the Cataclysm. Despite these trials, the city remains a testament to human endurance, housing the prestigious Cathedral of Light where the Holy Order of the Silver Hand was once reforged, and serving as the primary training ground for new paladins and warriors.

In Their Own Story

The sun dipped low over the harbor, casting long shadows across the cobblestones of the Trade District. A young guard adjusted his grip on his spear, watching the bustling crowd with weary eyes. Above him, the golden spires of the Keep pierced the twilight sky, glowing faintly in the dying light. He remembered the stories his grandmother told of the city's fall, of fire and ash, but looking at the vibrant life before him—the merchants hawking goods, children playing near the fountain—he knew that no shadow could extinguish this light forever.

Reader's Guide

Stormwind is divided into distinct districts connected by winding roads and grand staircases. The Lower City contains the bustling Trade District and the Harbor, where ships from across the world dock to exchange goods and news. Ascending the hill leads to the main city proper, dominated by the Great Gate which offers a panoramic view of Elwynn Forest. Here lies the Cathedral of Light, a massive stone structure dedicated to the Holy Light, serving as the spiritual center for paladins and priests alike. At the summit sits Stormwind Keep, the royal residence where King Anduin Wrynn rules from his throne room. The area is heavily guarded and features the famous library, which holds ancient texts on magic and history crucial to the Alliance's survival.
